Missed chances cost Phillies in defeat

After slugging four homers and 22 runs Monday, and jumping out to an early lead Tuesday, the Phillies could not push across another run. Brandon Phillips took care of the rest, homering twice and laying down a key sacrifice in the ninth as Cincinnati beat Philadelphia, 4-3, in front of 43,623 at Citizens Bank Park.
