A Philadelphia Flyers ice girl gathers up hats fans threw onto the ice after Flyers forward Mike Richards(notes) scored his third goal in an NHL hockey game against the Washington Capitals, Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, in Philadelphia. The Flyers won 6-5 in overtime.

Mike Richards and Alex Ovechkin showed off a sensational scoring show in a can-you-top-this second period. Back-and-forth went two of the top young stars in the Eastern Conference: Ovechkin, Washington's back-to-back Hart Trophy winner, against the Flyers' blossoming young captain. Richards bested Ovechkin in goals — and on the final score.
